ShieldSet, Inc. (“ShieldSet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is incorporated in the State of Florida. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use shieldset.com and the ShieldSet platform (collectively, the “Service”).
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account: your name, email address, and any profile details you choose to add.
We collect content you create within the platform, including runbooks, incident notes, templates, and any other materials you store using the service.
We collect usage information automatically as you interact with ShieldSet: pages visited, features used, time spent, browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring URLs. This data is used in aggregate to improve the product and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
We use your information to operate and improve ShieldSet: to authenticate your account, display your runbooks, process payments, send transactional notifications, and respond to support requests.
We may send you product updates, security alerts, and account-related emails. You can opt out of non-transactional emails at any time from your account settings.
We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to understand how the product is being used and to prioritize improvements. This data cannot be traced back to individual users.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data to serve advertising.
ShieldSet relies on the following third-party providers to deliver the service. Each provider handles data according to their own privacy policy:
Clerk (clerk.com) — authentication and user session management. Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing; your full card number is never stored on our servers. Supabase (supabase.com) — database and file storage. Resend (resend.com) — transactional email delivery. Anthropic (anthropic.com) — AI model used to generate runbook content.
Where these providers process data on our behalf, they are contractually required to protect it and use it only to provide the services we have engaged them for.
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@shieldset.com.
We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your preferences. We use analytics cookies (first-party only) to understand how the product is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from logging in and using the service.
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our production systems within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Runbooks and other content you have exported to your own systems remain under your control and are not affected by account deletion.
We may retain certain information for longer periods where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.
You can access and update your account information at any time from your settings page. You can export your runbooks in Markdown format from your dashboard.
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting hello@shieldset.com.
We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing a request.
ShieldSet is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us at hello@shieldset.com.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after a change is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
