These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of shieldset.com and the ShieldSet platform. ShieldSet, Inc. is incorporated in the State of Florida. Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.
By creating an account, accessing, or using the ShieldSet platform (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” refers to both you and the organization.
ShieldSet is a software platform that helps data engineers and operations teams create, manage, and share operational runbooks. The Service includes AI-assisted runbook generation, incident management tools, team collaboration features, and integrations with third-party services.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
Notify us immediately at hello@shieldset.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You may use the Service for lawful purposes in connection with your professional work. You agree not to:
Use the Service to store, transmit, or generate content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service. Use the Service to develop a competing product or resell access to the Service without our written permission. Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or index content from the Service without our consent. Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code into the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
Runbooks, incident notes, templates, and all other content you create using the Service (“Your Content”) remain your property. We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
By using the Service, you grant ShieldSet a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not violate any third-party rights, applicable laws, or these Terms. Do not upload confidential or personally identifiable information about third parties without proper authorization.
The Service uses Anthropic’s Claude API to assist in generating runbook content. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific environment.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and testing all AI-generated content before using it in production operations or incident response. ShieldSet makes no warranty that AI-generated runbooks are accurate, complete, or appropriate for any particular use case.
Operational decisions during incidents remain your responsibility. ShieldSet is not liable for outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
New accounts receive 5 days of free access to the full Service. No credit card is required to start a trial.
After the trial period, continued access to premium features requires a paid subscription or sufficient referral credits. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees through our payment processor, Stripe.
You may earn additional free days by referring new users to the Service. Each person who creates a new account using your referral link adds 30 days to your free plan. Referral credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
All fees are stated in US dollars. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until that date.
We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact hello@shieldset.com within 30 days of the charge.
The ShieldSet name, logo, platform, and all associated software and documentation are the intellectual property of ShieldSet, Inc. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our trademarks, copyrights, or other proprietary materials except the limited license to use the Service as described herein.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service will be available at any particular time. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any content generated by AI features.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHIELDSET, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShieldSet, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your account from your settings page.
